Pichet Klunchun Dance Company<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

(PKDC)<\/strong> is one of Thailand\u2019s leading contemporary dance companies, founded in 2010 by internationally acclaimed choreographer Pichet Klunchun<\/mark><\/strong>. Grounded in Thai classical dance\u2014particularly Khon<\/em>\u2014PKDC creates performance works that challenge conventional boundaries, reframe cultural narratives, and offer new vocabularies of movement for a rapidly shifting world. By integrating classical Thai forms with contemporary aesthetics and critical inquiry, PKDC has become a pioneering force in Southeast Asian performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since Pichet\u2019s early solo tours in 2004\u20132005, PKDC has created and toured numerous internationally acclaimed works, including Nijinsky Siam<\/em><\/mark> (2010), Black and White<\/mark><\/em> (2011), Tam kai<\/mark><\/em> (2013), Nay Nai<\/mark><\/em> (2014), Dancing with Death<\/em><\/mark> (2016), Bird<\/mark><\/em> (2018), No.60<\/mark><\/em> (2020), Malibucha: Dance Offering<\/mark> (2023), and Cyber Subin<\/mark><\/em> (2024). No.60 (2020)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Movement as Knowledge System<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A major turning point in the company\u2019s evolution came in 2020 with the premiere of No.60<\/em> at the Performing
Arts Meeting in Yokohama (TPAM), Japan.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

More than a performance<\/strong>, No.60<\/em> is a knowledge system \u2014 developed by deconstructing all 59 codified Thai
classical dance positions (Mae Bot Yai<\/em>) into a diagrammatic structure, analyzed through the principles of
physics. The result is a six-part framework for dance training and creation \u2014 offering dancers a method to build
personalized movement vocabularies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At its core, No.60<\/strong><\/mark><\/em> is about artistic freedom<\/strong>: a system that empowers the dancer, rather than constrains them.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
